Labels: movies Day 04- A habit that you wish you didn’t have Thursday, October 06, 2011 @ 10:35 PMPROCRASTINATION I always tell myself that i want to do this, i want to do that later. Labels: food makes me happy I love Taiwan!!!! Sunday, September 11, 2011 @ 1:00 AM21st June 2011-1st day @ Taiwan: Our flight was 7:15am in the morning; therefore we need to reach the airport at 5am in the morning!!! OMG I almost died from waking up from my precious sleep =( Went to the airport with the twins and we had Mac breakfast before our flight. After a 5 hours flight, we arrived at the Tao Yuan International Airport!!! It's a place which I 1st set foot in 2009 and I kind of find the place very familiar even though I don't really visit the place often. Maybe I keep coming into contact with Taiwan until I know the place very well. After all, my husband is a Taiwanese right =)
We explored Taipei 火车站 and bought train tickets to花连. It's the 1st day in Taipei, so we decided to test the market first. Walked around the basement of Taipei 火车站 and look at the price of the clothes. It's still considered cheap compared to Singapore, but we decided to go to other places to shop instead.
Went to 师大夜市 next. It was mad crowded!! And the worst part is, it was raining!!! Arghhhh I hate it when it rained as the weather will become humid and I’ll feel very sticky after that. But we really had lots of fun trying out the food there, looking out for handsome and pretty girls (YS spotted one and even took a picture with her -_-|||) and shopping!!! We didn’t buy much on the 1st day though. We loitered around until like 11plus and headed back to our hostel to wash up and sleep. I must say, it’s really tough to have 5 girls waiting for the washroom at the same time. Even though I showered 1st, waiting for my hair to dry despite having a hair dryer is already taking ages. Girls will forever be girls. Haha. 22nd June 2011-2nd day @ Taiwan: We had to wake up super early in the morning to take the bus up the hills to九分 (some mountainous area) to shop at their 老街 and also to see the scenery. I had been there before and the scenery is really awesome!!! As the last time I came here was with tour, so we don’t really have a lot of time to explore the place. So this time, I really can take my own sweet time to explore the place and tried many foods that are not found in the city. We tried the smelly toufu, the snail, the grilled mushrooms and much more interesting food. We walked down the back alley of 九分 and the scenery is super nice. Sometimes, it’s good to explore on our own as you’ll never know what interesting things you’ll find from there. We visited南雅 after that and I have no comments because to me, they are all stones and rocks. I’m not a very geography person, so I’m not interested in their formation also. So I only have pictures of rocks for you to see and you can interpret yourself. 野柳 is next. I visited the place before and I’m too lazy to squeeze with those people there to take a picture with the ‘queen Elizabeth head’. So I just stayed at some distance away from it and enjoy the nice breeze and the evening sun =) On our way out, Clem did something to me and caused a huge bruise on my shin =( I got blue black the next few days because of him =( Left the mountainous area and went down to 淡水 area. We actually wanted to watch the sun set but the clouds were blocking the sun when it was setting. So we didn’t managed to see the sun set =( Nevertheless, we still had fun at淡水渔人码头. We were super high and keep camwhoring. And all our jump shots failed. I mean all of them. Not even one is successful. Haha. This is what we call ‘Too many cook spoilt the broth.’ Went to淡水老街 to stroll along the river and had our ‘dinner’. The place is really very 老街. There are the olden day’s games like darts and shooting game (something like the pasam malam in SG, no wait, even pasam malam doesn’t have this anymore). So majority of the time, we were playing that because boys being boys, their ego gets better of them and they will want to continue to show off their skills until they are satisfied with it. We won a lot of inflatable weapons and we were hitting each other with it after that. It may seem pretty useless, but the most important thing is we had fun right. 23rd June 2011-3rd day @ Taiwan: We went to Leofoo village 六福村 the whole day and I conquered many rides =) I feel that our bonds became stronger as we took the rides together. We screamed together, shouted together and encouraged each other during the rides. We also fooled around together while camwhoring. Haha. We went back to Taipei for a while before training to花连. As we still have lots of time, we dropped by Taipei 101 (I mean outside) to take a look and camwhored for a bit before dinner. After dinner, we took a night train to花连 and I slept throughout the train ride. And it’s my virgin train experience (the train is not the normal mrt that we took in SG; it’s the old fashion train you see in the movies. Not old to the extent of the choo choo train la. Aiya, you go and see the picture then you will know. ) Reached 花连 at 1am in the morning and we had to walk all the way to the hotel which is like a 1 hour walk (it’s suppose to be a 30mins walk but in the end it took like 1 hour!!!) I was super pissed off then. I don’t mind walking la, but at that timing??? We can just take a cab instead but their insisted on walking. Sian….. But we still managed to find the hostel and being me, I was the 1st one to chiong the toilet and sleep. Haha. 24th June 2011-4th day @ Taiwan: Our main purpose in花连 is to visit the legendary Taroko 太鲁阁. It’s some mountain with nice scenery in 花连. Because of the oncoming typhoon, it kept raining but overall, the trip was alright.
Went to南宾夜市 in the evening and due to the typhoon, many shops were not open. But being us, we still can entertain ourselves by playing the UFO machine the whole night. and Clem caught a cute pink panther for me =) After which, we went to放天灯 and we played with the fireworks!!! It’s really awesome I tell you. I played the ‘chong tian pao’ which is the stick fireworks whereby you light it up and point it in the sky and the fireworks will fly into the sky!!! It’s urber fun!!! Celebrated Don’s 21st birthday at night. Wanted to surprise him but our ‘surprise’ failed -_- We had a cake smacking session and luckily for me, I tried to act innocent and went away with it =) while the others, especially the guys had cream all over them and they need to shower again. Haha. Oh did I say that their beds also had cream too??? 25th June 2011-5th day @ Taiwan: Shopped around 花连 in the morning and trained back to Taipei in the afternoon. I conquered五分铺 again!!! The last time I went to五分铺 was December 2009 but it was during the winter season. So the shops were mainly selling winter wear and there are not many summer wear up for grabs. Haha. But this time it’s different!!! It’s the season to be jolly, lalalalalalala!!! It’s summer!! Therefore, there are many summer wear selling at dirt cheap prices!!! Ok la actually it’s not as cheap as HK. The price is around the same as Bugis Street. But the main thing is, we can ask for discount!! Isn’t that the most satisfactory part of shopping??? Haha. Doreen and I shopped like nobody’s business. Haha. We shopped until the twins cannot stand us and walked away because apparently, we stayed in 1 shop for ages. Haha. On the other hand, the guys went to shop separately and even had a haircut during that time. They came to look for us before the stipulated time because they were very hungry. And the best part was, on our way to find food; I was still shopping and looking at the clothes as we passed by the shops. Shunwai had to pull me away before I get missing along the way. You can’t blame me if you were me. I just can’t resist the nice clothes on display and the sale signs which were on display too!!! We continued shopping after dinner till late. Haha. Oh my loots are 14 pieces of clothes for 3000NTD aka 150SGD!!! Average is around 10SGD per piece. It’s super cheap. In SG, 1 piece of normal top already cost like 25SGD already if you buy from the normal shops. Don’t say F21, say Giordarno, their basic tee is also 10 over bucks already. My loots include top, shorts, dresses and shoes ok. OMG I feel so proud of myself *give smirk face* haha. 26th June 2011-6th day @ Taiwan: By the 6th day, everyone is super shag already. We decided to laze around in the hostel until 11plus in the morning before heading out to explore西门盯 which is around our hostel. We went to eat at the modern toilet restaurant. In case you all don’t know, it’s a restaurant with toilet theme (I went to the one in HK before). We had our food served in toilet bowls, basins and bathtub. In the evening at around 4pm, we trained to东区 to get my Stayreal shirt!!! Haha. I want to thank them for waiting so patiently for me while I shopped around the place. I bought 4 shirts (3 for myself and 1 for my friend) in total. But I must say, the service is really like crap. I’m the only one in the shop and everyone (I mean the sales girls) was behind the counter don’t know for what. I saw something I liked that they came out of the counter to get it for me and went back to the counter again. Hello??? Can’t you tell that I’m getting more stuff and you should have stayed there and serve me??? Never mind. I’ll complain to my husband when I see him soon =) I will never go back to the shop (I mean the 东区 shop) to buy my Stayreal shirt anymore. Humphhhh. Went to绕和夜市 after that for dinner and the place is really very small for a 夜市. It’s only like 1 stretch of street. But I must say, the food there is very nice!!! Although they have limited variety but I can say almost every single store has nice food. Ok maybe all the stores that we buy from. Went back to西门盯 to KTV until 4am in the morning. HJ and I went high after 12am and we kept singing nonstop. Haha. We also went crazy by talking nonsense. And the best part is, we are not drunk!!! We didn’t drink at all although they have alcohol in our package. Haha. When we came out of the room, we were behaving like the people from the room beside us. And they were drunk!!! Haha. It’s super hilarious. We can laugh all the way back to our hostel after that. 27th June 2011-7th day @ Taiwan: It’s technically our last day in Taiwan and we decided to change our hairstyle before going back to SG (the ‘we’ that I’m talking about is only HJ, XS and I). So while doing our hair, the rest went to shop around西门盯 area (again). Haha. I think that it’s super worth it to dye my hair in Taiwan. I paid only 900TWD aka 35SGD to dye my hair and did a treatment. Considering the length of my hair, it’s super cheap!!! So while waiting, we met this little boy at the salon. Guess how old is he??? You never get the number right. He is only 3 years old!!! He looks so big for his age right??? And he is super huggable =) he can’t keep still and keep dancing the Michael Jackson dance. Haha. After my doing my hair, I went to Stage to buy my Manhattan Portage bag. I checked the price in SG and it’s selling at 169SGD. whereas in Taiwan, it’s only 125SGD!!! OMG how can I NOT BUY??? So in the end, I swipe my dad’s card because I’m afraid that I don’t have enough cash to last me until the next day. Haha. We went back to our hostel to rest before heading to士林夜市 at night. The place where the famous Shilin chicken originates from. But I must say, SG’s shilin chicken is nicer. Mainly because in SG, they cut up the chicken for us and the chicken is without bones and they have quality control for all their stalls as it’s a franchise. Whereas in Taiwan, they only have 1 store and their chicken comes with bones and they do not cut up the chicken for us. We ate many other nice foods other than the shilin chicken of course. We went to shop again after eating. Haha. Oh XS is super funny. We took the underpass from the train station to 士林夜市. And the underpass had 2 sides up leading to 2 different places. Clem wanted to turn right so I stopped him and asked him where he wants to go. He looked at me doubtfully and asked me if there is any difference. So I said the right side is all the shopping while the left side is where all the food is. So XS chiong over all the way from the back and interrupted our conversation by saying that she is very hungry. Haha. So it’s a hint that we should turn left instead to get food 1st. We went to shop after that. I was super excited because I passed by a rock coco shop (the shop also sells Stayreal stuff)!!!!! Because I swiped my dad’s card earlier, I had extra money with me. So I bought another Stayreal cap =) haha. I know i’m very impulsive but I did wear it in SG ok, just not so often. Haha. But I’m better than XS; she needs to decide for a whole hour to buy her nike bag. And the best thing is, we were the ones paying the money (we bought it for her 21st birthday). We need to keep assuring her that the bag is nice as she kept having 2nd thoughts. Headed back to the hostel to pack after that. And packing sucks!!! I seriously cannot squeeze so many things into a tiny box. In the end, I decided to hand carry my Manhattan Portage bag so that I can squeeze some clothes inside. In the night before we went to sleep, Ms XS came up with the idea that we should make full use of the inflatable weapons that we won on the 2nd day. So she (with the help of us) inflated them and persuaded us to go up to the guys’ room to attack them. So some things which cannot be said and will remain with our clique happened which caused us to have a sleepless night. but it was fun overall until late at night. haha. 28th June 2011-8th day @ Taiwan aka the last day: As our flight is in the late afternoon, we left our luggage with the hostel and walked around the area (which is 西门盯) as well as to do some last min shopping. Bought the Luo Zhi Xiang’s book at their famous book store (Chen Pin) and headed to Starbucks with the guys to slack and relax before going back to our hostel to prepare for our flight. Had BK for dinner at the airport and we were almost late for our flight. Overall, the trip is very memorable and we also got to know each other better. Had lots of fun fooling around with them and I know that we’ll always be there for each other =) love them TTM =) PS. We didn’t take many photos during the last few days because we are busy shopping or simply just want to relax and enjoy ourselves. Labels: it's a holiday |
