review of year 2006 Sunday, December 31, 2006 @ 12:18 AMin the year 2006, a lot of things happened. of course, there is ups and downs in our lives. today will be the last day of the year and i am going to go through what happened for me in the year 2006. school started well for me in january. this year will be my last year in the school and i wanted to make it a memorable year for us:) practically everyday there's test. small test, big test, mock exams, class test and what not. everyday i have to go home with the thinking of studying the test that will be held the next day. it's pretty tiring considering the fact that after a day's work in school, we will not have the energy to study at night and the next morning, we will have to wake up super early for school. that was pretty normal for me because every year no matter which level you are, you will have to face all these test paper everyday, so i am pretty ok with it. however, for all the sec fours. it's the O LEVELS year. we have to prepare for this big exam that we studied 10 whole years for. it's really a stress because of the pressure and the high hopes that we had from our parents as well as from our teachers. for the 1st term, i was still in lalaland. i wasn't taking the whole exam thing seriously and imagine we can joke and still play during the music lessons. in may, there's a big thing going on in the secondary four class. that's the combine chinese lessons that we had with our fellow classes who share the same chinese teacher. we were combined together for our chinese lessons. and because of that, we had to swap classes with the secondary one people. that's a memoral thing because everybody was complaining about the classroom and surrounding us are classes which are of the same standard as us. it's pretty cool because we can't get to be with the sec four classes back in our old classroom. in june, of course it's our O LEVELS CHINESE. in july, the block time table starts and we all have to go home at around 1730 everyday. everyday there's a subject and everybody or the selected people(up to the teachers to choose) will have to stay back particularly just to work on that subject itself. not only we are working, but the teachers are working with us as well. i still remembered we love to quarrel with mrs ganesan about the block time table. for me, although it may be a bit tiring, i find it useful because at least i can study in school. it's better then studying at home because at home, there's too many distractions for us. another thing that happened in july was the world cup 2006. this is the 1st time i watch a football match live and i actually watched throughout the whole match. the teams that i supported was not winning at all, so i started to give it up. july was a month full of joy because of the szzj gathering at sentosa:) i totally love that gathering as it's really a time for me to enjoy myself and not think of other stuff while enjoying. it's the most fun day in that period of time. thank people for making this day enjoyable:) august was sucky. it's the time when i really broke down. i really cried hard. i practically cried everyday after that music-bio incident(i think some people may know what i am trying to say). yup that was the most unforgettable incident in my days in secondary school(except for something that happened in sec 2). even the teachers that i trusted most betrayed me. she should be the one who understands me the most, but.... .... .... just disappointed. 8th of august. my birthday celebration with stella from the szzj. i guess that is the only happy incident that happened. erm... actually no, because i cried because i was touched. that's how i had my birthday celebrated. at least they still remember my birthday because at my birthday, nobody would actully wants to remember that IT'S MINE BIRTHDAY because of the fact that prelims started around that time. sucks right. YES. the o level oral started around mid august and prelims started on the 28th of august and it last all the way till september. until then, i still wasn't prepared for my prelims and I THOUGHT I WAS WELL PREPARED. it's my over confidence that cause me to fall badly and this was a sort of wake up call for me for that matter. prelims result was out in the end september and the parents-teacher meeting was held. i got mrs nathan and my parents are not very satisfied witht the result that i got. great. that's really great. now i get to suffer from the mistakes that i did. you get what i mean. october was marking month for all of us including the teachers. haha everybody is working hard towards a common goal. 13th october 2006 was the official day that we are in the school. it's the graduation ceremony. i can get to stand up on the stage proudly and announcing myself as a student of HOLY INNOCENTS' HIGH SCHOOL:) i am very proud of it. i am serious. that was the most memorable day for me in the school. it's so touching that everybody hugged together and cried together. this is the place that we had our joy, laughter, sad and sorrow. this really signifies the times i had in the school. i will definitely miss the school badly. practical exams kicked off after our graduation day. i had bio, music and science. then some more marking to do. and on the last week of october, i realised i make a very wrong mistake. i had been studying music for one whole week because i think that my practical will pull me down that i forgot to study other subjects. thinking of that, i panicked. i really stopped what i was doing and decided not to study music anymore. soon, the 3rd of november came. my 1st O LEVEL WRITTEN PAPER-MUSIC PAPER 1. for the rest of november everyday, papers after papers. science, english, music, biology, social studies, geography started. on the 8th of november a tragedy strick. my grandmother passed away peacefully on the ambulance while i was doing my e maths paper. and on the 14th november, i wasn't there for her cremation because at 1400 sharp just as she was pushed into the crematory(or whatever that's called) i started my a maths paper. what a filial granddaughter i am huh. finally, in the 20th novmeber, O LEVELS IS FINALLY OVER!!! hiphip hurray!!! it's finally over!!!! 29th november was the prom-turned-clubbing. it's really cool. looking at people wearing nice clothings and winning luck draw prizes.(though i never win a single prize) nice people with nice clothings:) after the prom, it's party time!!! for the whole of december, there's plenty of gatherings going on. szzj, 4 unity class chalet(opps that's in november), 4 unity christmas-cum-class-gathering, joelyn christmas gatherings, ahlang's birthday part and last but not least, later's primary school gathering:) here i wish everybody have a good year ahead and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! for everything you have missed, you have gained something else.-Ralp Waldo Emerson |
