starfish story Tuesday, December 14, 2010 @ 10:22 PMWhen i was in secondary 2, my teacher told me a starfish story which i remembered until now. We asked her why she wants to be a teacher. Hence, she told us about the starfish story which inspired her to become a teacher. here is the story: I have always wanted to become a teacher partly due to her story, the other part was inspired by my JC teachers. As you all know, SRJC is not a very good school in the sense that the students there went in with a slightly lower aggregate points as compared to the rest of the JC. Hence, in order for us to excel (ie. score well for A levels), our teachers need to put in extra effort to teach us. They devote their time to give us consultation after school just to ensure that we score well in our exams. They believed in us by motivating us in one way or another. They also helped us to get through all the difficult times and the stress that we were facing while studying. They are like the 'little boy' in the story who helped the starfishes(us) to survive in the world. Mr Ng told me that if i want to be a teacher (especially a teacher teaching in SRJC), I must be prepared to have no life. He himself already knew that he will have no life but he still wants to teach us! So i really 'pei fu' him for sacrificing so much for us. That's why i think that i should 'return this favor' to my future juniors. Ok anyway the main point of this blog is i have already considered very carefully that i want to go back to SRJC to teach. Or at least i planned my future with that goal. I don't know what will happen in the future, but i will work towards my goal =) Labels: thoughts for life |
