vietnam 2010-2011 Monday, January 24, 2011 @ 11:04 PMI'm a bit late for my Vietnam trip but nevertheless, I'll still blog about it. I went to Vietnam for 2 whole weeks! I traveled from the south of Vietnam which is Hanoi, to central Vietnam, Danang and Hue, all the way to the north, Saigon aka Ho Chin Min city and back to the south again. I personally think that the trip is ok only. I wouldn't want to go back there again if i have a choice. Seriously that place is........ I have a serious cultural shock once i step into that country. The whole place is really like country side and the people there is scary! They cross the road like nothing. And there are lots of motorcycles. But i have to say their driving skills are awesome. Somehow they know how to avoid the people crossing the road. Other than the people, the nature there is still nice. Their nature is still intact and the scenery is beautiful. Also, the food is awesome =) Especially the pho aka beef noodle! I ate it everyday when I was there. haha. It's mad awesome. You all should go and try it =) I didn't take many photos of the place despite staying for 2 weeks. Therefore, I'll just post whatever i have here. Like my brother says, pictures are for those who are forgetful. haha. I think I wouldn't want to remember this trip in detail :/ My 1st few days in Hanoi: my 1st pho. At the old quarter aka their downtown. Look at their traffic condition! messy like don't know what. Oh and they don't care about the traffic light. They just go whenever they like. The traffic light is like invisible. We stopped at some cafe for ice cream. My dinner at Metropole Hotel in Hanoi. It serves the best authentic french crusine. Here's my main dish. The 2nd day in Hanoi: We went to jalan at same lake near our hotel. outside some pagoda. my hotel. outside the Ho Chin Min mausoleum. reminds me of the Tian An Men in china. the changing of guards. They changed the guards every 1 hour. In front of the 1 pillar pagoda which was built by some king. Our family photo =) in front of the Lo Hei prison which houses the US pilots who were shot down during the Vietnam war. They also called it the Hanoi Hilton. the opera house. the nice spring rolls from Quan An Ngon- a nice place which sells authentic Vietnamese food. After exploring Hanoi city, we headed to the famous Halong Bay: the ferry that we'll be staying for the night. that's my room with an awesome view. the awesome view from the ferry. took from some limestone cave. the limestone cave. reminds me of the jenolan cave at Sydney. on a rowing boat to see monkeys. haha. the monkeys came all the way from the top of the cliff! can you spot them? the pretty sunset of Halong Bay. rise and shine! After a night on the ferry, we took a flight to Danang, central vietnam: some places of worship where the aboriginal people built last time. some Japanese-Chinese bridge. went to the city of Hue: the old fortress built by the Americans last time. My camera died on me when i was exploring the place, so only have a few pictures of the place. We flew to Ho Chinh Min City after that: my proud daddy with his battle tank during his army days. haha. went to some war memorial museum. a nice catholic church. their cityhall aka post office. opera house. After the city tour, we went to the Mekong Delta and stayed over at the resort: on the boat. a mini bar. some church by the delta. daddy enjoying his boat ride. haha. their 'taxi' Went back to Hanoi for the last few days: Mr Confucius.
